Sadly, John Wickersham passed away on Saturday 5th December 2015 following a year long battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully with his family around him.
He will be sadly missed in the caravan and motorcaravan industry.
As usual I will be attending the Motorhome & Caravan Show, running from 14th - 19th October 2014 at NEC Birmingham. However, if you can’t make this event you can always catch up with me at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2015, running from 17th – 22nd February 2015, which is also held at NEC Birmingham.

Not everyone can afford to buy an expensive motorhome or campervan. So there are many people who construct one, convert a van, or upgrade an elderly model instead. There is even a specialist association which helps people carry out this kind of work. It’s known as the ‘Self Build Motor Caravanners Club’ (www.sbmcc.co.uk).
Alternatively, Wicky World’s very own John Wickersham has embarked on building his own self-build motorcaravan. Not once, not twice, but three times! For more information on his experiences, detailed guidance and hundreds of step-by-step photographs please refer to his latest manual ‘Build your own Motorcaravan’ (Second edition 2013) produced by Haynes Publishing.
